In the jewelry industry, tungsten and titanium are considered as model metals. This is because they are not available for the consumer market as commodities until ten years ago. Tungsten wedding rings have become popular since the introduction and become an integral part of the jewelry material spectrum.

Many questions have arisen about the titanium and tungsten wedding rings when people are choosing jewelry. If you really are thinking about buying titanium or tungsten wedding rings, here are a few points consideration.

1. Hardness

Tungsten and titanium are known for the superior hardness over traditional metals such as platinum, silver and gold. One thing to remember is that it is not the metal itself in a pure form of violence. The hardest form of tungsten carbide is harder than titanium alloys, and only in extreme circumstances, such as abrasion from diamonds, can it be damaged.

2. Ductility

In the common alloys used in jewelry, titanium is more ductile than tungsten. In other words, when the wedding ring is under high pressure, such as hit by a car door, a titanium ring will be bent out-of-round whereas a tungsten carbide ring would fracture into several pieces. Therefore, the tungsten carbide ring is safer to use.

3. Coloring

Titanium reacts with different chemicals and produces a variety of colors blend. Jewelry makers use anodization to coat colored patterns on titanium rings. Black titanium is another form of titanium alloy that has a different color than the commonly used gray. On the other hand, tungsten carbide is usually offered in black only.

4. Weight

Titanium is lighter than tungsten because it has a lower density. Titanium alloy is about 43% lighter than stainless steel and tungsten carbide is about 90% more weight than stainless steel.

5. Engraving and resizing

Titanium wedding rings can be carved and size can be changed. However, tungsten carbide ring is too hard for carving and resized. While it can be carved, the letter will be very vague and difficult to read. So if you buy a ring for carving, choose a titanium ring.

6. Price

In general, titanium jewelry is cheaper than tungsten jewelry primarily due to differences in environmental control equipment and the need to produce them. Temperature to form tungsten carbide is about 6000 Fahrenheit, in the environment must either hydrogen or a vacuum.

7. Hypoallergenic

Hypoallergenic is one of the concerns held by some people. Some people may be allergic to the jewelry, but titanium jewelry is generally used to secure nearly all the people. However, some tungsten carbide jewelry contains the element cobalt that some people are allergic. Interesting, another form of tungsten alloy using nickel as a metal binder hypoallergenic, even for people who are allergic to nickel.

Posted by admin | Posted in Weddings | Posted on 10-07-2010

Writing wedding speeches isn’t as complicated as you think and it should be considered a great honor to be selected for this task on the most important day of two person’s lives, their wedding day.   The task of writing wedding speeches is generally given to the bride’s father, the best man or a close friend of the family.

There are many ways to write wedding speeches, but no matter how you decide to write your wedding speech you should always keep in mind that this special day is for two people, not just one.  Wedding speeches should be formed around honoring the bride and groom on that special day that they became husband and wife.  You should mention good things about both the bride and groom.  Try to make your wedding speeches as personal as you can.

Start writing your wedding speeches by introducing yourself and stating how you are related to the bride or groom and then begin your opening statement.  Your opening statement can start with how honored you are for being able to attend the wedding  and for being choosen to give the first wedding toast to the new bride and groom. You can talk about how the bride and groom meet and good times that they both encountered together.

Some interesting stories that you can include in your wedding speeches is why you think the bride and groom are perfect for each other, what they have in common and stories of how they worked their way through certain problems.  Be careful when telling your stories, do not mention anything which would offend the bride or groom or any other person who is attending the wedding.

Make your stories short and interesting, usually wedding speeches are only 3 to 5 minutes long.  Under no circumstances tell stories about past relationships of the bride or groom. Try to keep your wedding speeches clean and free of any offensive language or intimate comments which might embrace or offend others.

Groom speeches may be considered one of the hardest speeches to write because the wedding party is usually made up of all ages and no one hardly knows each other or has much in common except an acquaintance of the bride, groom or family member.

Wedding speeches should be prepared several weeks ahead.  The bride and groom have spent months to try to make everything perfect for their wedding day and your speech is a very important part of that day.  You should always practice and memorize your wedding speech, this will help you relax and have confidence when presenting your wedding speeches to your audience.  This will make it a lot less stressful for you and your speech will go smoothly.

Just take your time and deliver your wedding speech with warm, meaningful thoughts which reflect the significance of the occasion. Normally at the end of wedding speeches the person giving the speech will raise their glass and conclude the speech with a toast to the bride and groom.
